Perhaps you are wondering: “what January 6th deadline?” So let me tell you. That’s the deadline to register with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. Does your district employ drivers who hold a CDL—Commercial Drivers’ License? Of course it does. That means that your district is required to register for this Clearinghouse by January 6, 2020. Check it out at https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/
The purpose of the Clearinghouse is to provide a secure online database regarding drug and alcohol program violations. You can get more information about this on the website of the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation: www.tapt.com.
