Dear Dawg:  I’ve come to Austin for the Midwinter Conference and was planning to attend the Perspiring Superintendents’ Academy. I’ve heard so much about it, and since I hope to be a superintendent within the next couple of years, I thought this would be great for me. But no one seems to know where this group is meeting.  I’ve asked a lot of people and only drawn blank stares, shoulder shrugs and funny looks. Maybe you know, Dawg.  Do you?  Can you tell me where the Perspiring Superintendents can be found?  PERSPIRING MYSELF.

DEAR PERSPIRING:  We think maybe you mean the Aspiring Superintendents Academy, which started yesterday and is going on through Wednesday in conjunction with Midwinter.   If there is a Perspiring Superintendents Academy we suspect it is only available to those who have served as superintendent for enough years that they have at least three board members ready to fire them. That’s when the perspiring really kicks into high gear.
